The Easton 160 has large rooms in a small design

The new Easton 160 from Longridge Homes was designed to provide an emphasis on indoor/outdoor entertaining and living. The focus of the house is a large outdoor patio area that links with the internal meals, and living room via bi-folding doors creating an enormous, single entertaining area. Located at the rear of the house is the main bedroom with ensuite and built-in wardrobe. A large picture window looks out onto the patio area. Sliding glass doors can be added to the design if desired.

Bedroom two is at the front of the house and has provision for built-in-wardrobe. Adjacent is the main bathroom with a shower, toilet, vanity and a linen closet. A modern kitchen has been integrated with a laundry to save valuable space. Stainless steel Smeg appliances, including a dishwasher, double sink and benchtop cooker are included. The laundry, including space for a washing, dryer and trough are located at the end of the kitchen bench.

Longridge Home's marketing manager, Helen Lowrie said the Easton 160 was designed to meet the need for more suburban in-fill sites. "It is suited for villa size blocks and suburban in-fill blocks," she said. "It provides compact, contemporary living for either for either a young family or professional couple." Mrs Lowrie said the study would be ideal for a busy couple while a young family would use it as a third bedroom. "We haven't wasted any space in the design," Mrs Lowrie said. "No passageways eating into valuable space have been used and there is no second eating area. What we wanted to achieve were large rooms in a small design. "The bedrooms have plenty of space and with the laundry integrated with the kitchen we have been able to create more living area.

"It doesn't feel like a small home once you walk inside." A feature bulkhead is used in the entry with a dropped ceiling over the kitchen helping to create delineation between areas. Large, white porcelain tiles run through out the home with an inlaid carpet square featured in the living room. "The easy clean tiles and aluminium framed windows help create a low maintenance home," Mrs Lowrie said. "Frameless, sashless windows have also been used for excellent ventilation throughout the home." A fully rendered façade, with tiled porch and a double garage, gives the home a contemporary street presence.
