the Windsor 270 to create a home families can grow into
From its up-to-the-minute exterior to its expansive, light-fi lled rooms, Longridge Homes’ Windsor 270 is sure to impress. It features a large open-plan living area that leads to an alfresco dining area, a separate living zone and clear separation between children’s and parents' areas to provide everything young families need.
"There's a good combination of public and private areas, with all the living spaces flowing into one large space, yet with enough separation for separate entertaining," Longridge Homes’ Helen Lowrie says. The home centres around a large, open-plan dining, kitchen and living area that flows on to a private courtyard on one side and out to a decked alfresco entertaining area at the rear. Helen says, "Most clients want that extra living area outside and, being under the main roof, it’s protected from the weather, allowing for year-round entertaining."
The galley-style kitchen is out of the way yet allows the cook to be part of the action. It features Smeg appliances, large breakfast bar, overhead cupboards, pantry and plenty of benchspace, with the bench flowing seamlessly through to the outdoor cooking area. The living room has a curved feature wall lined with slimline porthole windows.
"It gives the space a contemporary feel and lets in light, but shields the home from direct sunlight, which is great for energy effi ciency," Helen says. The ample dining area overlooks an internal courtyard through glass sliding doors and is separated from the formal lounge by a dividing wall. At the front of the home, half-walls and a pillar line create a sense of seclusion in the formal lounge and slimline windows provide light and privacy. Access to the main bedroom is off the formal lounge, making the area an ideal parents’ retreat.
The bedroom opens to the internal courtyard through sliding glass doors. The expansive ensuite, which includes bath and twin vanities, is at the front of the home to provide a buffer to street noise. A wall-length, built-in robe provides ample storage space. The three remaining bedrooms, two with built-in robes, are along the other side |of the home, creating a kids’ wing. The main bathroom and laundry are also located here.
The home is displayed with a flat portico (urban option) and a mix of rendering, architectural tiles and board. A gabled portico is available in the classic facade. A blade wall lines one side of the portico and continues into the formal lounge, with both sides lined with metallic tiles. The Windsor also includes European oak floors in the living areas, remote-controlled double garage, and secure access into the home.
